AREA REGISTERED PIANO TECHNICIAN ELECTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

(Mesa, AZ) Mark Purney, RPT, has been re-elected to the office of Western Regional Vice President for the Piano Technicians Guild.

Purney will serve in the position through July 2018 representing the interests of piano technicians, promoting educational opportunities and serving as a goodwill ambassador to the piano community. Purney will also be directly involved with administration and long-term-planning.

Im honored to serve a third term, Purney said. This is an important time for the Piano Technicians Guild. We have the leadership, vision and now a streamlined organizational structure that will allow us to move forward with important new programs. These programs will increase the value of membership to over 3200 PTG members, and increase public awareness of the Piano Technicians Guild.

A resident of Mesa, AZ since 2004, Purney provides piano tuning, regulation, voicing and action rebuilding services for concert venues, private clients, churches, studios and schools in the Phoenix East Valley. He has completed the Renner Academy factory training program, is a Wessell, Nickel and Gross Certified Action Rebuilder, and Certified Installer for Dampp-Chaser Piano Life Saver humidity control systems.

Purney earned the Registered Piano Technicians designation in 2007. The Piano Technicians Guild grants the Registered Piano Technician (RPT) credential after a series of rigorous examinations that test skill in piano tuning, regulation and repair. The Piano Technicians Guild is the worlds premier source of piano service expertise. It promotes the highest possible standards of piano service by providing opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
