JULY, 2015 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AREA REGISTERED PIANO TECHNICIAN ELECTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Mesa’s Mark Purney, RPT, has been elected to the office of Western Regional Vice President.

Purney will serve in the position through July 2016 representing the interests of piano technicians, promoting educational opportunities and serving as a goodwill ambassador to the piano community. He’ll also be directly involved with administration and long-term-planning.

“I’m honored to be able to serve the Piano Technicians Guild in this capacity,” according to Purney. “The Guild has been an important factor in my career and personal development, and this position is an opportunity to give back to the organization. It is the duty of Board of Directors to maximize the positive impact PTG has on its members, and on the international piano community we are a part of, and I’m excited to be involved in that process for the coming year.”

A resident of Mesa, AZ since 2004, Purney provides a full range of piano tuning and repair services to the Phoenix Valley.

Purney earned the Registered Piano Technicians designation in 2007. The Piano Technicians Guild grants the Registered Piano Technician (RPT) credential after a series of rigorous examinations that test skill in piano tuning, regulation and repair. The Piano Technicians Guild is the world’s premier source of piano service expertise. It promotes the highest possible standards of piano service by providing opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its nearly 4,000 members.
